Quick start (2 minutes) #

1. Turn on the Lite features in GEOmatic AI → Dashboard:
   
   • Enable JSON-LD Schema
     
   • Enable AI Sitemap (/ai-sitemap.xml)
     
   • Enable HTML Attributes (AI-readable hints)
     
2. Go to 🧠 Cockpit AI → Overview and use:
   
   • Scan for Missing Summaries (queues items)
     
   • Generate AI Summaries Now (queues generation)
     
   • Run Now (executes immediately)
     
3. Use the PLUS panel when needed:
   
   • Safety Mode (30m) while editing live content
     
   • Regenerate AI/Video sitemaps after big changes
     
   • Purge AI Transients or Flush rewrites to fix edge cases
     

You’ll see a green “Settings saved / Task scheduled / Done” notice on the same page.

Cockpit AI — What you see #

KPIs (top strip) #

Each KPI has a “How it’s calculated” link to a concise help page.

GEOmatic AI PLUS panel (Overview) #

A compact maintenance strip to keep you fast and safe:

• Enable Safety Mode (30m)
  Temporarily pauses front-end injections (schema, AI hints) so you can edit live pages without side effects.
  Turn off when you’re done.
  
• Regenerate AI Sitemap
  Clears the AI sitemap cache; it rebuilds on next request. Use after large content updates.
  
• Regenerate Video Sitemap
  Clears the video sitemap cache; it rebuilds on next request. Use after adding/updating many videos.
  
• Purge AI Transients
  One-click cleanup for internal AI caches (safe).
  
• Flush rewrites
  Refreshes permalink rules if a sitemap URL or route misbehaves.
  

Lock indicator: if a scheduled job is already running, Cockpit shows a small “Lock active” chip to prevent duplicate work.

Posts/Pages — “AI Readiness” column #

A new admin column helps editors see if a page is eligible for Video rich results:

• OK — video metadata looks complete
  
• Missing: thumbnail/duration/chapters — add those to unlock full benefits
  
• — — no video data detected (that’s fine if the page has no video)
  

This column is informational and very light; it doesn’t slow down your list screens.

Sitemaps & robots.txt #

• AI Sitemap: https://your-site.com/ai-sitemap.xml
  
• AI Video Sitemap (if enabled): https://your-site.com/ai-video-sitemap.xml
  
• robots.txt includes the Video Sitemap line only when the module is on (no duplicates).
  
• Sitemaps are cached briefly for performance and regenerate automatically; the PLUS panel gives you manual control when needed.

• No front-end JavaScript: everything is PHP-only and minimal.
  
• Concurrency lock: prevents two heavy tasks from running at the same time.
  
• Inline notices: every action confirms success on the same page.
  
• Scoped caches (transients): fast to build, safe to purge.

Compatibility #

GEOmatic AI plays nicely with popular SEO plugins. If your site already injects certain schemas, keep only one source for video schema to avoid duplication. The PLUS Safety Mode is ideal during big edits or theme/plugin changes.

Troubleshooting #

• I don’t see JSON-LD on the front
  Make sure Safety Mode is off and the JSON-LD toggle is enabled. View the page source (not just the visual inspector).
  
• Video sitemap is empty
  Add video metadata (URL, thumbnail, duration) in the post. Use Regenerate Video Sitemap and recheck /ai-video-sitemap.xml.
  
• “Run Now” seems to do nothing
  If a job is already running, the lock avoids overlap. Wait a minute or use the action again once the lock clears.
  
• My sitemap URL 404s
  Click Flush rewrites (PLUS panel). Also ensure permalinks are set to “Post name” or similar.

FAQ #

Does Safety Mode affect visitors?
No—visitors still see your pages. It only pauses certain injections (schema/AI attributes) temporarily.

What’s the difference between AI Sitemap and Video Sitemap?
AI Sitemap lists your AI-optimized content. Video Sitemap focuses on pages with valid video metadata for enhanced video results.

Can I clear caches safely?
Yes. Purge AI Transients clears only internal caches used by GEOmatic AI.

Does the plugin send data externally?
No. All features in Cockpit AI and the PLUS panel run locally on your WordPress site.
