Beginner’s Pre-Installation Guide – GEOmatic AI

Read before installing the plugin on your WordPress site

1. What is GEOmatic AI? #

3. Step-by-step installation #

1. Download the plugin

2. Upload to WordPress

   • GEOmatic automatically creates a special link (/ai-sitemap.xml).
     
2. AI Markup (HTML Attributes)
   
   • Adds “invisible labels” in your titles and text so AI can better understand them.
     
3. JSON-LD Schema(optional if you already have an SEO plugin)
   
   • Lets GEOmatic manage your “content ID cards” (structured data).
     
   • If AIOSEO or SEOPress already do this, let GEOmatic disable its own schema to avoid duplicates.
     
4. Automatic Summary (Pro)
   
   • Creates a short, invisible summary for AI.
     
   • Enable only if you know the purpose and your content is ready.
     

5. Checks after activation #

After setup:

• Go to yoursite.com/ai-sitemap.xml → you should see a structured list of pages/posts.
  
• Go to yoursite.com/robots.txt → check that the line Sitemap: …/ai-sitemap.xml appears.
  
• Open a page → right-click → “View Page Source” → you should see small data-llm tags in headings or paragraphs.
  

6. Common mistakes to avoid #

⚠️ Be careful with these:

• No backup → if there’s a conflict, you could lose data.
  
• Two active schema systems (e.g., GEOmatic + AIOSEO at the same time) → may confuse Google.
  
• Expired license → Pro features will deactivate after a few days.
  
• Forgetting cache purge → if you use caching/CDN (Cloudflare, etc.), clear it after setup.
  

7. Good habits after installation #

• Check regularly that the AI sitemap is up to date.
  
• Confirm your key pages are included in it.
  
• Keep the plugin updated for new features and security fixes.
  
• Maintain a small internal note with the GEOmatic AI settings you’ve enabled.
